Valentine’s Day has its origins as a holiday to honor an obscure saint named Valentinus, but now more commonly it is a day to celebrate romantic love.
This new meaning of Valentine’s Day is credited to Geoffrey Chaucer, an English poet from the middle ages. Eventually this holiday evolved into a day to express your love to your partner by presenting them with flowers, different confections and cards known as “valentinesâ€.
