Ring Them Bells – Severe Weather Alarm Testing Today

You may hear the weather alarm sounding today, but don’t be alarmed! The Minnesota Department of Public Safety will be conducting drills for severe weather by sounding the weather alarm twice, once at 1:45 p.m. and again at 6:55 p.m.. This is part of a wider effort know as Severe Weather Awareness Week. As we head into the warmer months, Minnesota will sometimes see severe thunderstorms, hail, straight-line winds, and yes, sometimes tornadoes. When there is severe weather and you hear those alarms sounding (and it’s not a test) you should take shelter and seek additional information for updates about weather warnings.
