Industry News
A Message of Remembrance, Support & Safety
Last week, the multifamily housing community lost three colleagues in unimaginable circumstances.
Mid Continent Management Corporation (MCMC) has established a GoFundMe in honor of the staff members who lost their lives. Condor Corporation has made a donation on behalf of our company, and anyone who would like to make a personal contribution may do so via the GoFundMe page.
This tragedy is also a reminder that workplace safety concerns should never go unaddressed. If you ever have safety concerns about your role, work environment, or personal wellbeing, please bring them to your manager’s attention.
A past issue of MHA’s Multi Housing Advocate titled “Safe at Home” includes valuable safety and security resources from industry experts.
Behind the Scenes
Spring Pool Day Resident Events
Our communities welcomed pool season with sweet treats and plenty of sunshine! These spring pool days gave residents a fun opportunity to gather poolside, enjoy a treat, and celebrate the start of another great summer.
NAA Conference — New Orleans
In June, Liz, Shawn, Julie, Christine, Alissa, and Lori represented Condor at the National Apartment Association’s three-day conference in New Orleans. The event brought together more than 10,000 multifamily housing professionals and featured over 700 vendor exhibitors.
Attendees could choose from 109 educational sessions covering industry trends, operations, leadership, marketing, leasing, and maintenance. Artificial intelligence in multifamily housing was once again a major focus. The conference also featured keynote presentations from Daymond John (Shark Tank), Nicole Kidman (Academy Award-winning actress), and Nick Saban (Hall of Fame football coach). Our team returned with new ideas and inspiration to share across Condor’s communities!
Teamwork in Action
Check out how our teams have risen to challenges, reached important milestones, and supported their communities recently!
- All Communities handled a major increase in maintenance requests during the extreme heat, including numerous air-conditioning calls during and after business hours.
- Eagle Ridge began July with only two apartments available within the next 60 days, improving on its already impressive total of three in June!
- Lexington Heights calmly and effectively addressed residents’ questions, concerns, and complaints related to construction of the new building.
- Eagan Heights successfully completed eight apartment turns — the most it has ever managed at one time — and prepared great homes for new residents.
- Salem Green was short-staffed and working through intense heat, but Caleb and Rick worked hard to bring the community’s work-order count down to zero twice in two weeks!
- Promenade Oaks reduced its 60-day rental availability to single digits through strong leasing efforts and continued attention to the property.
- Gulf Gate skillfully coordinated with residents and vendors throughout the replacement of windows and patio doors in occupied apartments.
- Palm Cove teams worked together in the Florida heat to clear unsightly trees and improve residents’ views.
These accomplishments reflect the dedication, collaboration, and care being demonstrated across all our communities. Thank you to every team member!
🐝 Insect Stings
Monthly Safety Reminder
Warmer weather brings increased activity from bees, wasps, hornets, and other stinging insects. This month’s safety resource shares helpful information on preventing stings, recognizing allergic reactions, and responding appropriately if an incident occurs.
Please report any hives or nests found on community buildings or grounds to your manager promptly. Early reporting allows the area to be addressed safely and helps prevent injuries to residents, visitors, and coworkers.
